Everything is ok - Run two wars, win Nobel Peace Prize

Posted on:October 09 2009

When I wondered how a man who is currently running two huge illegal wars and even just increased the amount of deployed troops in one of them can receive a Nobel Peace Prize (I mean, really, wtf?), I remembered this nice, not really related video:

We need somebody doing this in Austria in Germany as well :)

Comments:

erm, he (re)started dialogues with Cuba and North Korea, he stopped the missile shield in Poland and the Czech Republic (thus taking a lot of friction out of the regional conflicts with Russia), his policies are directed towards peaceful dialogues as means to resolve international conflicts, etc., pretty big accomplishments for such a little period of time, don't you think? And so far it looks like he's seriously trying to fix the sh*tholes left behind by the previous presidency, nationally and internationally.

Also remember, the two wars weren't started by him, they were forced upon him.

But niko has a valid point here, reinforcing troops for continuing wars only some weeks before receiving a peace nobel price doesn't add up.
Obama is a great precident, but this doesn't fit together.

Yes his current action seems anti-peace and that should be taken in account. He is really no Einstein or Mother Teressa.

I suppose there are other ppl who deserve the price more than him.

Great vid btw.

Now get all back to work and stop losing valuable shopping time!

I think Obama has the potential to earn this award, he just hasn't yet by a long shot. I think it does him more harm than good to get it right now. Seriously though, criticising him for listening to commanders in a war he inherited is stretching pretty hard for ammunition, considering all the positive things he's already done and committed to do.

Great video though.

That I can agree with you on. You win the Nobel Prize for doing something, not talking about doing it and having no progress.

I think the Nobel Prize Committee goofed up allowing hype to get in the middle of a impartial decision.
