Oh how I like Vista... How difficult could it be for Microsoft to make their own compiler run on their newest OS? Currently I'm getting a lot of these, randomly:
Linking...LINK : fatal error LNK1000: Internal error during BuildImage
In addition to the cases where VisualStudio is not able to write .pdb files because it thinks somebody else locked that file (but actually, itself is locking it), developing on vista is no fun at all. Arrrgghhl.

Amen. I've also had random lock-ups when doing very large batch builds on a Vista machine. On the whole it's a horrible experience.
Right now my only Vista machine is a secondary boot on my MacBook Pro and my experiences with it have made me avoid Vista on my primary dev machines because the experience was crappy. Are you running SP1 yet? I was hoping that might make it better, since I will eventually have to move...
No, I updated not yet because I feared if the service pack would break even more and I would have trouble restoring the old state again. But maybe I should give it a try.. :)
i updated to vista sp1 but i had to do a 'fresh' install because stuff either stopped working or worked strangely with the 'upgrade' path. so fair warning, niko. but 'fresh' install was the only way i got vista sp1 to install and work correctly. once it's installed, i love vista with sp1 much, much more than vista without sp1.
I've been developing with VS 2005 on Vista for over a year now. No problems with Visual Studio, just problems with DX10. All my development on 3Demon over the past year has been on Vista.
