And the winner is...

I can't believe the fact that most traffic on this blog is generated by bots trying to post comment spam. Awesome. And it's cool that about only 0.001% of all those attempts are successful, although this blog doesn't use any CAPTCHA, blacklists or similar, just some few modifications written by myself. The only drawback is that you are not able to post comments to very old blog articles, but I've come across a new nice idea to enable this again: Bots today don't support CSS. ;)

Comments:

Do they support javascript? If they didn't, could you not simply use javascript to dynamically add the input box or something similar?

In reality, I don't really know what I'm talking about I think :-)

Two suggestions:

1) A warning, that the emailadress will be published on this site *grmbl* Or even better: Simply dont publish it here!

2) The "Remember personal info" radiobuttons appear without text to me.

The “Remember personal info” radio buttons have never had text next to them for me either.

Why not just add an Image verification, where the user has to input the letters/numbers in the image. I have also seen a sight where they display a color, and then you have to select the color's name from a drop-down box. Bots would definitely find that solution hard to crack! :)

Why not just add another field with a question a bot cant answer but is obvious easy to any person? Like doing some maths or whats the name of the engine this site features...?

right, going to fix all this. But I really don't like image verification or any other method of verification.

Its just fine now. (monkey) I dont like captchas either, they are simply annoying. And even bots get around them anyway ...
