Windows Vista Development

Posted on:November 27 2006

Ever wanted to know how software developers work at Microsoft? This is an interesting blog entry by an ex microsoftie, describing how he needed one year (!) to implement the shutdown menu in Vista. Reminds me on some of my own development experiences. Endless discussions about the simplest features - especially with non-techies - really can destroy the software your are working on.

Wow not bad... one year for such a complex thing... they take the linux kernel but not its shutdown menu... poor microsoft

My favourite programming/IT book comes from Microsoft press (http://cc2e.com/). Should I be worried or should they start reading books they publish? O;-)
