Foreign expeditions

I don't speak french, and I don't trust those online translators, but even without this, this blog looks interesting. Shows irrXML, irrEdit and Irrlicht in action. Although I don't know - maybe the author is even writing negatively about that sofware. :-) From time to time I do find other blogs like this - mostly russian, spanish and various asian blogs writing about Irrlicht & co, and I have no clue what they are talking about. But it's nice. :)

Translations of 2 of Aranoth's bolg entries:
--------------------------------------
15/11/06: "The feet in the grass"
During the last time I worked a lot on the game.
I did struggle heavily with Irrlicht3D and how it manages terrains, in particular with collisions. But now, it works: the collisions heros-terrain are correctly handled. I use always the XML for defining my maps and their objects. I added the water and even grass thanks to CGrassSceneNode available at the Irrlicht forum. I'd like to add CTreeSceneNode, but it is not yet compatible with the latest version of Irrlicht (1.2), but anyway, then this will come later.
Meanwhile a little screenshot:

14/10/06:"Irredit on the test bench"
Today Niko just release version 0.5 of his scene editor for Irrlicht3D, namely IrrEdit.
Besides a slightly improved interface, the big plus now is the addition of the lightmap generator, a nice thing indeed. To be honest, I even favor it over DeleD that I use at the moment.
Still some shortcomings were not removed - for example the way of changing vaules in the properties panel is impractical and the organisation of the subwindows is a bit of a hassle.
I leave you with this screenshot of a map that I realised in DeleD, and here a link to IrrEdit for the interested ones: http://irredit.irrlicht3d.org/
Until soon!

An entry about my blog on Irrlicht3d.org ? I Need some minutes to realize, I will soon awaken, isn't it ?
So it's not a dream...
First of all, I want to say "thanks", not only to speak about my blog, but also for Irrlicht which is a great and impressive 3D engine.
And I thank clemens for his good translation, speaking english is hard to me (I hope you can understand what I write^^).
As you can see, the design of my blog looks like this one, I hope you will excuse me for this plagiarism, but I like the design of this blog ;).
Thanks again for this honour, and don't worry : I have no reason to write negatively about Irrlicht ^^

See you next time !

Maybe some Asian said that it's a good engine.
And I think it's the best one of the 3D engines I have known for learning.
Thanks for your engine.
