Epic Reality Engine

Posted on:May 13 2005

Epic completely bought Reality Engine from Artifical Studios and hired Tim Johnson, the lead engine programmer of Reality Engine. Wow, that's an interesting way to aquire new technology and to shut down the competition.

Comments:

Was not the Reality Engine based off the tech. of GEN3D back in the days, Thats some old stuff they just bought, Im sure Unreal has surpassed that power years ago. But hey the world need another rich man I guess.

No need to buy Irrlicht.
The source is there and free to use.
I mean it's merged in Unreal already ;)

Hehe, they'll just click Rename All... Irrlicht -> Unreal3, compile and we have a new engine:)
