Had a play with the demo.

Shadows are pretty glitchy so wanted to turn off the grass shadows and perhaps use a terrain lightmap? However unchecking the single distant light's shadow checkbox (under its attributes tab) seemed to do nothing - instead selecting the top node and unchecking 'realtime shadows' did the trick. Can't seem to add a lightmap to the terrain (as an alternative). Dark fog colours and greater density seem to enhance the shadow glitching.
