I'm used to getting strange software reviews on various app stores. But I think Steam reviews are one level ahead. I'm confused for example about this one:
Is this good? Is it bad? I don't know. But he played it for 23 hours, so it shouldn't be that bad. Right? Hm.
Hehe. Well you got a thumbs up, and many hours played so I'd call it a victory.
Hey I was wondering how much Steam takes from your sales. I made a cool game and was thinking of releasing it onto the Steam for $2.99.
Or he played it just not to feel he wasted his money. of course just kidding.
Searching a bit on google tells me it is 30%
Wow only 30% to have your game criticized by a bunch of basement dwelling losers and then buried beneath 10,000 other indie games. No thanks! I think I might take the old fashioned route of building my own website, then pumping thousands of dollars into a marketing campaign.
Tim, the problem is that that way your game gets buried by 100.000 other indie games ;)
All right, that's it! Now I'm even more stressed out! I hereby am cancelling the release date, and going back to the drawing board where I will spent much time "enhancing" the game in anyway I know how. Good day sir!
