Maya dead?

Posted on:October 06 2005

So Autodesk (3ds) bought Alias (Maya). Phew. They say that they will continue developing both products, but everybody knows what this usually means. Maybe a chance for XSI?
But I hope Maya won't disappear. All my MEL scripting experience will become useless. :)

I don't think that Maya will disapear. Why should Autodesk cancel a very successful product?

IMHO is 3Dmax more for game designers, and Maya more for special effects or 3d films like Final Fantasy or ants etc.
So the question is, does autodesk thinks the same …

both products will coexist and benefit each other mutualy, pipeline between them will be better, users will surely benefit from that...
R&D will also benefit from this.
Autodesk just wants shares in the movie industry that maya has.
NO! MAYA's NOT DEAD :)
