I’m porting my custom game/engine to the iPhone, and the frame rate is OK once everything is loaded into memory, but the loading process (and memory allocation) takes forever. On the desktop, I never even needed a loading screen, but for the flash memory based device, I’m going to need some pretty screen to disguise the resource load.
The frame rate is sometimes excellent, but there are occassional slow downs which I cannot explain, and then everything is perfect again. Hmmm.
