My readers are geeks!

Who would have thought it, my readers appear to be techies. :) As I've now about 3000 visitors each day (not hits or visits, talking about unique visitors) I thought about doing some little statistics. Two interesting results: People who come to this blog are apparently using the right browsers: Opera is leading (yay!), then comes firefox, followed by IE. It's close but numbers don't lie :)

The next interesting is this: My readers like google. Or people searching for technical stuff are using google. Or google likes my blog. I don't know. But nearly no one comes here via yahoo or msn:

Moral of the story: I don't know. Just interesting.

you dont expect people that come to a tech blog to be techies? :p

3000 unique visits a day, nice

I would be curious to see the break down of the “Other Browsers” section because it is so large. The only “Major” browsers I can think of would be Safari on Mac OS X or maybe the beta of IE 7.

It is somewhat unfair to say that Opera and Firefox are the most used browser when IE 5.x and 6.x are divided and Opera and Firefox are not.

On a side note I love Opera and just realised that it is avalible for Linux which is great because SLES 10 is now my main machine at work and the only thing I had been missing, other than Visual Studio, was Opera.

Wow, people actually use IE 5? that is rediculous… They probably have Windows 95 too :D . I use Firefox and sometimes Opera. I keep IE 7 for those pages which are out of date and only work in IE. I also refuse to use anything but Google.
Andrew - 04 09 06 - 23:46

I only use Google, too… because it’s the only(!) search engine which is kept simple. All other pages I know are overcrowded pages with news etc. ... or are again powered by Google, like search.yahoo.com.

Goma () (link) - 05 09 06 - 18:05

The fact that the list actually has 50 different browsers lets you know your readers are geeks. Now if the IE numbers would only go down more. . .
